What's in a Doctor of Acupuncture's Summer Bag?

When headed out of the house, I take what’s inside my bag very seriously ;) Not bring-the-entire-house seriously, but enough that I've figured out what actually gets used and what just takes up space.

Whether I'm headed out to Moon Rabbit or spending the afternoon by the pool (I have a soft spot for an afternoon by the pool at Soho House Chicago), there are a few things that always make it into my bag.

Sunscreen

a non-negotiable. I'm all about soaking up summer, but my future self appreciates when I remember the SPF... and remember to reapply instead of convincing myself, "I'm probably fine."

Hand Sanitizer

Because germs, hello! This new hand sanitizer we carry at Moon Rabbit now lives in every bag I own and comes in 3 wonderful scents!

Bug Spray

Nothing ruins a perfect summer evening faster than becoming the mosquitoes' favorite person. Our Moon Rabbit Bug Spray has become my warm-weather sidekick. A few spritzes before an evening walk or outdoor dinner and I'm much happier.

And a fun little update, our Moon Rabbit Bug Spray (along with our Essential Oil Rollers) recently found a new home at the Soho House Cowshed Spa in Chicago .

Water

Because staying hydrated is essential!

Lip Balm

I may or may not carry two lippies in my bag but at once but the Vertly lip balm has saved me more than once, and somehow I'm always digging around my bag looking for it!

Shenmen Roller

The Shenmen point is one I use all the time in practice because it's associated with helping the body unwind and settle the nervous system. I'll often reach for the roller when I just want a quiet little reset. It only takes a minute, but it's become one of those tiny rituals I genuinely look forward to.

Ear Seeds

My favorite for acupuncture on the go! Curious about ear seeds? Lean more here.

Bracelets

I love pieces that are simple enough to wear every day but still feel meaningful. These bracelets are usually stacked on my wrist all summer long and there are usually a few hanging out in the bottom of my bag!

Sunglasses

Mostly because squinting gives me a headache.

Also because they're the one accessory that instantly makes me feel chic and fun.

Headphones

For a summery playlist or a favorite podcast.

Throat Spray

I use this all the time and it comes with me wherever I go. I love to spray especially if I think I've been around germs! It naturally contains flavonoids and polphenols that may help to fight free radicals and combat oxidative stress!

Wallet

Usually buried under everything else. Every. Single. Time.

Ultimately, summer wellness is all about feeling prepared so you can truly relax on the go. If you're looking to upgrade your everyday carry with a little wellness support, pop into Moon Rabbit to grab my favorite everyday essentials. Stay cool, stay balanced, and enjoy the sunshine!
