Look for other locations coming soon!

Where are you located?

Please arrive having eaten a small snack, hydrated, and having used the bathroom. There are no particular clothes or time of day. Come when works for you!

How do I prepare for my appointment?

How frequently you need to come in will depend on what your goals are. People come as frequently as twice a week, or as infrequently as every 6 months. You will work with your practitioner to develop a plan that gives you the best outcome on a schedule that works for you.

How often should I schedule appointments?

The duration of your session will depend on what you are coming in for. Most sessions last between 30 minutes and 1 hour.

How long is a session?

As long as you arrive having eaten a small snack, drank water, and have not had any alcohol, there should be little to no negative side effects of acupuncture. You may experience small bruises at the site of needle insertion, otherwise acupuncture is extremely safe.

Are there any side effects of Acupuncture?

Overall acupuncture should not hurt. Many people even fall asleep once the tiny needles are placed. However, everyone has a different pain tolerance and experience. At Moon Rabbit we will check in to make sure that your experience is as gentle, comfortable, and relaxing as possible.

Does acupuncture hurt?

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles (30 times thinner than the traditional needle you experience at your physician’s office) at strategic points on the body.  Most people believe that acupuncture only treats pain, however it has a myriad of other uses including overall wellness and stress management.

From an eastern perspective, acupuncture is a technique for balancing the flow of qi (pronounced chee), or energy, which flows through meridians in your body.  By inserting needles into specific points along these meridians, acupuncture re-establishes balance for overall health and wellbeing.

Alternatively, the Western biomedical perspective is that acupuncture stimulates nerves, muscles, and fascia (connective tissue).  From a biochemical perspective, findings from basic medical research have demonstrated that acupuncture stimulation causes a release of endorphins, serotonin, enkephalins, and γ-amino-butyric acid (GABA; a major inhibitory neurotransmitter of the brain), norepinephrine, and dopamine

What is Acupuncture?

During your first visit to Moon Rabbit, your practitioner will go over your concerns and goals.  We will guide you through a customized treatment plan so you leave with a clear understanding of how many sessions and how often you should be visiting Moon Rabbit.

We recommend that you eat a small meal, be well-hydrated, and use the bathroom prior to your appointment.  No need to wear anything special - just come as you are.

Each treatment takes about 30 – 60 minutes, depending on your concerns and goals.

What can Acupuncture help with?

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles (30 times thinner than the traditional needle you experience at your physician’s office) at strategic points on the body.  Most people believe that acupuncture only treats pain, however it has a myriad of other uses including overall wellness, stress management, and fertility support.

From an Eastern perspective, acupuncture is a technique for balancing the flow of qi (pronounced chee), or energy, which flows through meridians in your body.  By inserting needles into specific points along these meridians, acupuncture re-establishes balance for overall health and wellbeing.

Alternatively, the Western perspective is that acupuncture stimulates nerves, muscles, and fascia (connective tissue) to reduce pain and treat tension.  Acupuncture treatment can help the body rel3e3ase a spasmed muscle or interrupt the signal of pain. From a biochemical perspective, findings from research have demonstrated that acupuncture stimulation causes a release of endorphins, serotonin, enkephalins, and γ-amino-butyric acid (GABA; a major inhibitory neurotransmitter of the brain), norepinephrine, and dopamine, other studies have also demonstrated that acupuncture can treat insomnia, as well as support conception through Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART), such as IVF.   Acupuncture has also been demonstrated to increase blood flow, aid in circulation, improve sleep and ease mental health concerns.
