Yes. We believe true restoration requires a balance between guided sessions and personal time. While the retreat offers a rich daily program of wellness, movement, and workshops, we have intentionally built in "open" blocks during the mid-day and afternoons. This gives you the freedom to enjoy Hotel Esencia’s pristine beach, take a dip in the pool, book an additional spa treatment, or simply rest in the quiet of your suite.

Is there downtime to explore or relax on my own?

Human Design is a synthesis of ancient and modern sciences. It is used as a system for self-discovery that provides a "user manual" for how you are uniquely designed to interact with the world.

What is Human Design?

A Ba Zi (or Chinese Astrology chart) is a personalized energetic roadmap based on your date and time of birth. We include this in your welcome package to provide you with deeper insights into your unique elemental makeup, which informs the coaching you receive throughout the retreat.

What is a "Ba Zi" and why is it included in my package?

The Temazcal is a guided ancestral ceremony led by a traditional healer. It utilizes heat, steam, and herbal infusions in a jungle setting to facilitate deep release, renewal, and spiritual balance.

What is a Temazcal Ritual?

Yes. If you wish to arrive early or extend your stay, we recommend coordinating with our partner travel advisor, Caryn at Fora, to ensure your accommodations are seamless.

Can I extend my stay at Hotel Esencia before or after the retreat?

Yes, Hotel Esencia provides high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the suites and common areas. While the retreat is designed for disconnection and restoration, you will have the connectivity you need if you need to attend to urgent matters.

Is there Wi-Fi and cell service on the property?

The deposits for all packages are non-refundable. For full details on our cancellation and payment schedule, please review the terms and conditions provided in your WeTravel booking portal.

What is the cancellation or refund policy?

We recommend breathable, comfortable clothing for movement and yoga, a light layer for cooler jungle evenings, swimwear for the beach and pools, and comfortable walking shoes. You will receive a detailed packing list closer to the retreat date to help you prepare.

What should I pack?

To ensure an intimate, personalized, and restorative environment, we’ll cap our retreat size at 7 - 12 guests. This intentional group size ensures you have meaningful 1:1 guidance.

How many other guests will be on the retreat?

Yes. Every guest receives one 60-minute Deep Tissue or Full-Body Relaxing Massage. You are also entitled to a 15% discount on any additional treatments booked from the Hotel Esencia Spa Menu.

Are spa treatments included in my booking?

Travel to and from the retreat (flights and airport transfers) is not included. However, we have partnered with a travel advisor who can provide discounted transfer rates and assist you with all your travel logistics to keep things seamless.

Are flights and airport transfers included in the package?

The chef-curated menus are designed to be health-conscious and nutrient-dense. Please inform us of any severe allergies or specific dietary restrictions during the booking process or your pre-retreat intake, so we can ensure the culinary team accommodates your needs throughout your stay.
