Acupuncture for Fertility
At Moon Rabbit, our team is experienced in guiding patients through their reproductive journey. Care includes acupuncture and any necessary add-ons, as well as an individualized treatment plan with lifestyle recommendations such as Eastern nutrition and movement practices.
The Benefits
Fertility acupuncture is designed to support individuals and couples trying to conceive, whether naturally or alongside treatments like IVF or IUI. By promoting hormonal balance and nourishing the reproductive system, patients often experience meaningful shifts over time as the body strengthens its foundation for a healthy pregnancy.
Pregnancy Support
Once pregnancy is established, acupuncture can support the body through changes, helping promote comfort, stability, and overall wellness throughout the course of pregnancy.
Treatment Support
Often used alongside IVF, IUI, and other medical care, fertility acupuncture helps the body adapt to fertility treatments and recover between stages.
Stress Reduction
Acupuncture helps calm the nervous system, easing physical and emotional stress that can impact fertility and overall well-being.
Cycle Support
Ongoing care can help bring more consistency to menstrual cycles, supporting clearer ovulation patterns and timing.
Reproductive Circulation
By promoting healthy blood flow to the uterus and ovaries, acupuncture helps nourish key tissues involved in conception and implantation.
Hormone Balance
Fertility acupuncture supports the body’s natural signaling systems, helping encourage steadier hormone rhythms that are important for reproductive health.
Your first visit begins with a thorough, one-on-one conversation about your health history, lifestyle, and current priorities. We take a broader view beyond individual symptoms to explore patterns in sleep, digestion, stress, pain, energy, and more, and how these systems influence one another.
This in-depth intake helps us build a care plan that feels thoughtful, personalized, and specifically aligned with your needs.
Initial Appointment
Each acupuncture session is thoughtfully tailored to your symptoms, overall health, and wellness goals. Fine needles are placed at targeted acupuncture points to promote circulation, support nervous system regulation, and encourage the body’s natural balance, with additional supportive services included as needed.
Sessions are typically calming and restorative, offering time for the body to relax, reset, and begin the process of healing and regulation.
Treatment
Acupuncture is most effective when approached as ongoing support rather than a single appointment. With each visit, care evolves based on how your body is responding, helping encourage continued balance, regulation, and long-term resilience.
After sessions, it’s common to feel deeply relaxed, energized, or slightly tired as the body begins integrating the work. Staying hydrated, eating nourishing meals, and allowing space for rest can help support this process.
Over time, consistent care helps reinforce stability across body systems and creates a stronger foundation for lasting wellness.
Continued Support & Aftercare
Thoughtful Care, Start to Finish
From your first visit through ongoing treatment, care is collaborative, calm, and tailored to you. We take the time to understand what’s happening in your body and adjust treatment as your needs evolve.

The Science Behind Fertility Acupuncture
Fertility acupuncture supports hormonal regulation by influencing the nervous system pathways connected to the reproductive organs. Targeted stimulation helps improve communication between the brain, ovaries, and uterus, supporting more regular cycles, balanced hormone signaling, and optimal conditions for conception.
The placement of acupuncture needles increases blood flow to the uterus and ovaries, enhancing oxygen and nutrient delivery to reproductive tissues. Improved circulation supports healthy follicle development, uterine lining thickness, and overall reproductive function while helping reduce pelvic stagnation and inflammation.
Fertility acupuncture activates the nervous system to reduce stress responses and promote relaxation while supporting the release of endorphins and other regulatory neurochemicals. These effects help calm the body, support emotional well-being, and create a more favorable internal environment for fertility, implantation, and ongoing reproductive health.

Frequently Asked Questions
Both phases are important for different reasons. Before ovulation, acupuncture supports follicle development and optimal blood flow to the uterus. After ovulation, it helps calm the nervous system, improve uterine lining receptivity, and encourage implantation. A personalized treatment plan will usually include sessions in both phases for the best results.
Is acupuncture better before or after ovulation?
Acupuncture may help improve egg quality indirectly by enhancing blood circulation to the ovaries and balancing reproductive hormones. This can create a healthier environment for follicle growth. While results vary, many fertility specialists recommend acupuncture as a complementary therapy during IVF preparation and stimulation phases.
Can acupuncture increase the quality of eggs for IVF?
We recommend checking your insurance benefits and our updated pricing to see how much your fertility acupuncture will cost.
How much does fertility acupuncture cost?
The ideal timing depends on your menstrual cycle and fertility goals. Generally, starting acupuncture 2–3 months before trying to conceive or beginning fertility treatments can help prepare your body. During your cycle, sessions are often tailored to each phase — for example, before ovulation to promote follicle development and after ovulation to support implantation.
What is the best time to get acupuncture for fertility?
Yes, acupuncture has been shown to support fertility by improving blood flow to the reproductive organs, regulating hormones, reducing stress, and promoting overall balance in the body. While it isn’t a guaranteed treatment for infertility, many individuals and couples use it alongside conventional fertility treatments (like IVF or IUI) to enhance their chances of conception.

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles (30 times thinner than the traditional needle you experience at your physician’s office) at strategic points on the body. Most people believe that acupuncture only treats pain; however, it has a myriad of other uses, including overall wellness, stress management, and fertility support.
From an Eastern perspective, acupuncture is a technique for balancing the flow of qi (pronounced chee), or energy, which flows through meridians in your body. By inserting needles into specific points along these meridians, acupuncture re-establishes balance for overall health and wellbeing.
Alternatively, the Western perspective is that acupuncture stimulates nerves, muscles, and fascia (connective tissue) to reduce pain and treat tension. Acupuncture treatment can help the body release a spasmed muscle or interrupt the signal of pain. From a biochemical perspective, findings from research have demonstrated that acupuncture stimulation causes a release of endorphins, serotonin, enkephalins, and γ-amino-butyric acid (GABA; a major inhibitory neurotransmitter of the brain), norepinephrine, and dopamine, other studies have also demonstrated that acupuncture can treat insomnia, as well as support conception through Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART), such as IVF. Acupuncture has also been demonstrated to increase blood flow, aid in circulation, improve sleep and ease mental health concerns.
