Lunar New Year at Moon Rabbit-
Long before calendars shaped our sense of time, the world was wild—seasons arrived unpredictably, stars drifted out of rhythm. To restore order, the Jade Emperor declared a race among the animals. The first twelve to reach Heaven’s Gate would become symbols of the lunar cycle. Among them was the Horse—explosive, bold, and full of spirited independence.
On February 17, 2026, we enter the Year of the Fire Horse, a powerful and rare alignment that comes only once every 60 years. Fire Horse energy is dynamic, transformative, and intense—making this an ideal year for bold actions and decisive breakthroughs.
At Moon Rabbit, we’re honoring this moment with a special Lunar New Year ritual: All clients receiving treatments or making product purchases during Lunar New Year week will receive a complimentary red string bracelet in a traditional hong bao - red envelope.
✨ Also available for purchase online or in-studio for $12.

Why Red Bracelets?
In Chinese tradition, red symbolizes protection, prosperity, and joy. Red string bracelets are worn to guard against misfortune, anchor your intentions, and invite good luck throughout the year. Think of it as a wearable ritual—something quiet, sacred, and deeply personal.
The Power of the Fire Horse
Horse energy is expressive and kinetic—driven by passion, guided by instinct, and always in motion. Horses crave companionship and shine in community.
This year, the Fire element adds even more heat—fueling creativity, courage, and transformation. Fire governs inspiration, daydreaming, and bold emotional expression. It's the energy of laughing too hard, dreaming too big, and leaping before you look.
But even fire needs balance. To avoid burnout, cultivate your Water element—rest, meditate, breathe deeply. Let go when needed. Fire thrives when balanced with softness.
A Year for Purposeful Action
The Fire Horse invites us to take action—not just to move, but to move with intention. Whether it’s starting a project, expressing your truth, or letting go of what's holding you back, this is the year to act decisively. Let go of overthinking. Embrace the clarity that comes from doing.
But beware: in the thrill of momentum, we may become careless. Fire Horse years can also bring restlessness when energy lacks direction. Let purpose be your compass.
Lunar New Year Traditions
Around the world, families celebrate Lunar New Year by releasing the old and welcoming the new with joy and hope:
Deep Clean the Home to sweep away bad luck before New Year’s Day
Decorate with Red & Gold, symbols of vitality and fortune
Enjoy Reunion Dinners with dumplings (wealth), fish (abundance), and long noodles (long life)
Give Red Envelopes (Hongbao) to bless younger generations
Set Off Fireworks to scare away evil spirits
Wear New Red Clothing to invite fresh energy and blessings
These traditions center on joy, family, and intentional new beginnings. They mirror Moon Rabbit’s own ethos—healing through ritual, connection, and energy.
What Not to Do During Lunar New Year
To make space for luck, tradition reminds us to tread carefully during the first days of the new year. A few things to avoid:
Don’t sweep or take out the trash on New Year’s Day—it symbolizes throwing away your luck.
Avoid using sharp objects like scissors or knives on the first day—they may "cut off" good fortune.
Don’t argue or use negative language—words carry energy, and this is a time for kindness.
Avoid wearing black or white, as they are traditional mourning colors. Red is the color of joy and protection.
These aren’t superstitions—they’re acts of intention, gentle reminders to begin the year with clarity, respect, and aligned energy.
