Lindsey Nelmar
Lindsey Nelmar is a trauma sensitive clinical massage therapist with experience ranging from luxury hotel spas to chiropractic clinics and fitness centers. She enjoys volunteering as an LMT in the medical tent with the Chicago Marathon every year and works with a number of marathoner clients. Initially needing clinical massage work for a volleyball injury as a young teenager proved to her early on just how effective and magical bodywork can be.
In and out of the treatment room, Lindsey is passionate about cultivating a sense of ease and safety for those around her. She believes that the massage space is not just about addressing the body, but also giving the soul and nervous system a chance to rest and recover. Whether addressing a postural deviation, post-operative or injury recovery, pregnancy, or mental illness; she customizes each session to meet the needs of her client’s body, mind, and spirit in its present state.
Lindsey is a self proclaimed anatomy nerd, having taken additional courses in Neuroscience, Nutrition, Biology, Psychology, and Anatomy. She also has a BA in Relational Communication.
Lindsey’s sessions incorporate elements of myofascial release, breath work, deep tissue/trigger point, and Swedish massage with influences from Quigong and Restorative Yoga.

Motivation:
I am an anatomy nerd who loves learning about why the body does what it does, when, and how. I naturally gravitated toward fascial work because of the structurally holistic approach - seeing the body as one interconnected being as opposed to individual, isolated muscles.
Growing up witnessing mental illness gave me richer context of caring for the mind and doing my part to create spaces of peace and comfort.
