Jon Kaplan is an Illinois State Licensed Clinical Massage Therapist. He graduated from The Soma Institute in Chicago. He has extensive training in Traditional Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Trigger Point and Myofascial Therapy. Jon has worked with chiropractors, Physical Therapists and is a leading therapist at one of the highest rated Boutique Hotel spas in the country. This allows him to create a combination of relaxation and targeted therapy.
One of Jon’s proudest moments in his career has been his two years working as Lead Massage Therapist for The Road Home Program. Road Home is the leading and most extensive rehabilitation program for veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Through this special population, he was able to see and feel how anxiety and trauma can become physical on top of emotional discomfort. Massage goes beyond the skin and muscle, relieving the mind as well as the body.
Mental health has always been at the forefront of Jon’s practice and has been a consultant for the non-profit organization Hope For The Day, advocating for suicide prevention and mental health awareness. Since his work with veterans, he has been researching massage for migraine relief, finding the techniques extraordinarily helpful along with other non-medication methods.
Jon’s goal in his treatment practices is to integrate clinical bodywork with mindfulness, knowing the goal for homeostasis takes multiple avenues to achieve.
